Pine green-gentian, formerly named Frasera
neglecta, is an erect, glabrous, 1-several stemmed perennial or
biennial with opposite, linear, sessile, entire-margined leaves. The
flowers are greenish-white streaked with purple, the four corolla lobes
oblong to obovate with abrupt acute to acuminate tips and a fringed
gland at the base of each lobe, and appear in dense, whorl-like clusters.
Pine green-gentian is typically 8"-16" tall and flowers
from May to July. It inhabits dry slopes from 4500' to 8000' in
yellow pine forest areas, desert slopes of the San Gabriel and San Bernardino
Mts, and Mt. Pinos. The Jepson Manual describes it as uncommon.
