MUTAU FLATS ROAD BURN AREA, VENTURA CO. JUNE 2008
Photographs by Michael Charters

I am extremely grateful to Ventura County botanist David Magney of David Magney Environmental Consulting for his help in identifying many of these species which were previously unfamiliar to me and for letting me know about this amazing area which in 2008 is producing a display which due to the con-junction of the fires and the rains is unlikely to be repeated anytime soon. An upside-down V next to the common name indicates a taxon that was new to me when I photographed it on this field trip.
