You may click on any highlighted common or Latin name to view enlarged pictures with accompanying botanical information.  The common name index includes names listed, for example, both as Ashyleaf buckwheat and as Buckwheat, Ashyleaf, in order to group related species together and to make it easier to use for those who may not be completely familiar with plant common names.  For author names, click here.  NOTE:  The Jepson Manual 2nd edition is in the process of being compiled. Many taxonomic changes are in the offing. Until it is published, my practice will be to retain the names as they are in the 1st edition.
