THREE POINTS TO MT. WATERMAN, SAN GABRIEL MOUNTAINS JUNE 2003 PAGE ONE |

This is a fairly long trail, about six miles, so it is better done with someone else and have a car parked at either end. It winds its way without great variations in altitude (until you get near Mt. Waterman) through the San Gabriel Wilderness. Along the way you pass the turnoff to Twin Peaks to the south. The Three Points trailhead is at the junction of the Santa Clara Divide Road on the Angeles Crest Highway at mile marker 52.80. Once you reach the Mt. Waterman area, you have to hike down to the ACH if you are doing this hike one way. This gallery is from a time when I was just beginning to learn and identify plants, so mistakes may have been made. Please contact me if you see something that doesn't look right. |
